More than skin deep?
Question: from Grace
Right now I'm suffering from skin allergy. I'm not pretty sure, though since I haven't seen a Doctor yet. But if it is an allergy then this is my first time. I haven't had allergy before. My skin is very itchy then turns into rashes. Also, even if I exfoliate everyday (literally) after I dried myself I still see dead skin. I stopped using lotion for almost 2 weeks now, instead I'm using virgin coconut oil but my skin is very dry still. I wanted to know if the Xtend Life lotion can help me with my skin problem. I'm 45.
Answer: from Warren
I really think that it is worth trying our lotion and stop doing the exfoliation for a while. Also, it is important to be aware that this problem is likely to be caused by something going on inside you. It may be an allergy as you suggest but if it is a reasonably recent occurrence, it is in my opinion more likely to be a nutrient deficiency of some sort.
My suggestion would be to add our new Omega 3 / DHA Fish Oil to your daily regime at double the normal rate - 4 per day. Also add at least the Total Balance Unisex Standard or, if you can manage the extra cost, use the Premium version. The combination of these two supplements can do wonders for your skin.
If this and the skin care products don't help then you would need to go see a dermatologist, but I would be surprised if this doesn't help.
Good luck

I absolutely enjoy using the products for its natural ingredients & effectiveness. Thank you and will be re-ordering soon.
Not sure this is the right place to ask a question, but couldn't find any other way (perhaps you should open a forum?).
Anyway, I started puberty later than others (16) but have gone through it quite rapidly. Still having those growth spurts, though. But it's only recently that my skin has gone a little red on the cheeks (I say recently, but it's been a good few months now, although has improved). It also started to become very dry, but I've been using the following and my dryness has virtually gone now: Aloe vera gel (with tea tree oil), jojoba oil, shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter, evening primrose oil and grapeseed oil.
My main problems now are; the redness and these strange dents in my cheeks. This is the best pic I can find to describe the dents: http://www.corrieblog.tv/RYAN_THOMAS.jpg. -- On the forehead, you see that dent? Well, they are similar to that but on my cheeks. If I look in a reflective surface, you can see them very clearly. Now, my question is this: Do you know what these dents are? Are they just temporary things? And secondly, will your products help get rid of the dents and the redness?
PS: When will a cleanser be ready and; how come the mens range don't have a night cream with shea butter ect?
Thanks for your time.
First picture -- dent on forehead.
Good to hear you are enjoying the products. We are working on an acne product, but for scarring I think that you will find that over time what you are currently using will help.
Unfortunately I cannot get the pictures at the moment. I am on a boat on the Yangtze in the middle of China at the moment and can only get text. What I can say is that it is likely that the facial fluid for men could help the redness. I can’t guarantee this but it helps skin redness and inflammation for most men. It is certainly worth a try.
We considered doing a night version for men and you are right - the only other ingredient that we may have added for the night one is the shea butter - but, the extra benefit would be negligible and it would not be practical for a lot of men to have two separate products.
With regards to the cleanser, we have done some preliminary tests but I was not 100% happy with it so we are continuing with the development.
I would also suggest that you take our Omega 3 / DHA Fish Oil. It's an excellent product with exceptional anti-inflammatory properties - much greater than normal fish oil. This will likely help your skin redness. With regards to dents, it is impossible to know what to suggest without knowing the cause. Maybe it is a breakdown of some of your skin's elastin or collagen? If so, then the creams will help a little but you may have to consider more internal remedies such as our Total Balance. It helps prevent glycation which may be a factor in breaking down your collagen or elastin - IF indeed this is the problem, which I do not know. Sorry that I cannot be more definitive.
Thanks for your reply. I'm a big believer that most skin problems are caused by something going wrong in the inside -- so I've started to eat healthy (hard to keep to but I'm getting there).
I'll look into giving the products you suggested a try (most definitely the skin care products and omega fish oil). Anyway, I'll take a visit to my gp to see what he thinks - it's been too long the skin redness and although it has improved, there is definitely some inflammation going on. Maybe it's just a temporary teen thing -- I hope so!!!
Again, thanks for your reply.
It seems that you have serious chip on your shoulder and I know it is not related to us but you are trying to make Xtend-Life the brunt of your unhappiness. However, consistent with our policy of not deleting blog comments - good or bad - we are leaving your comment in place.
You have earned the dubious honor of being the sender of our first bit of ‘hate’ mail in 10 years.
I have no idea of what your motivation could be or why you are doing this. I understand that you have spent literally hours on the phone with our staff over the last few months making all sorts of unfounded accusations. Throughout all this, they still dealt with you in good grace and patience.
I agree that LEF is a good company and I have been quite open about the fact that 10 years ago, when Xtend-Life was founded, we were looking for the best supplement in the world. In our opinion, LEF mix was the best at that time. We did not copy it but rather said to our formulator Prof.Dr A Munem Daoud - one of the top bio-scientists in the world - that we wanted to develop a new formula that was better than this product. That is how Xtend-Life started. If you examine the two products you will see that they are quite different.
Anyway you have gone right over the top with your accusations and no doubt many of our customers will be upset at reading what you have said as they know it is all unfounded. We have an open door policy and we are very transparent. Any customer is welcome to visit our facilities and factory for an inspection at any time and they will see that all our products are true to label and we do not compromise on anything.
I intend blocking you from this ‘cheap’ blog Kenneth as it is intended for knowledge, not for this type of vindictive comment.
As with all people, I wish you well nonetheless and hope that life starts treating you better in the future.
I am a little upset at Kenneth’s comment posted on this blog.
I have been taking TB, Omega 3 / DHA Fish Oil and other products especially the men’s skin care products. I have to say that I am very happy with all their products and have seen great improvement.
For one my skin does look much better than before and noticed a decrease in redness around my cheeks. Also I have found that the products are much easier to apply on the skin. I was using USANA skin care products and really did not find they made any difference. They do have great products but, there is no need for me to speak about their products that way they just didn’t work for me. I just wasn’t happy with them found Xtend-Life and honestly I am very happy.
There TB has given me great energy I feel great everyday and have never gotten sick yet plus no trips to the bathroom at 2 in the morning. Another note which I have never posted on the website I had knee surgery and let me tell you I always had pain when walking afterwards. Not that much pain that I wasn’t able to walk but, enough to realize I had pain. After a year of taking Arthrit-Eze, TB, and Omega 3 the pain has dramatically decreased by 80% not perfect but, way better than before. USANA did nothing for me for two years and that was a little heart breaking because of all the money spend.
Just give Xtend-Life a chance be patient and you will notice a difference I have.
Just waiting for that cleanser to be available I have to admit I am still using USANA’s for know. It’s better than nothing and I am sure that Warren and his team are working hard for a great cleanser to be released.
Cheers,
Mike

Thank you for sharing all that with us. I am so pleased that you are getting the results you expected.
With regard to Kenneth...it is a shame that he felt he needed to do that. It is the first time since starting this blog that it has been necessary to block anyone but I don't have time to start a dialogue with someone who is so far out on their facts.
I hope that Kenneth does get his life together. It is a wonderful world with lots of positive things to enjoy if you have the right attitude. Hopefully Kenneths will change.
Thank you for your support.
I am really interested in Xtend-life products. I wondering If you could help me with my children's problems like they are not well behaved in school such as not listening and pay attention when somebody is speaking and having hard time to do works at school. Do you have nay suggestion that can help solve these problems? they are from age 5-11.
Thanks.

There has been considerable success with children using omega-3 fish oil high in DHA as a countermeasure to these issues. That would be my first course of action, to get them onto that. The only issue is that the little ones may find the soft gels too big, but you may be able to squeeze the oil out and mix it in with their food. We are going to start producing some 500mgs soft gels shortly - this will overcome the size problem.
For the older children I would suggest our Childrens Total Balance as this will help with any nutrient deficiencies which may be the underlying cause of the problem.
In addition, really have a close look at their diet. Try to get them off any sodas or energy drinks they may be having and try to prevent them eating processed foods. I know that is easier said than done with children and is a real challenge but try nonetheless. Also, if they do not do much exercise try to encourage them to do some outdoor activities. That will also help.
Thanks!
Miho
There are a number of ingredients that will help in this area but there is no magic single one. If you are concerned about this you may like to try our Diabet-eze which has a number of ingredients that have been established as being helpful for insulin resistance.
2. Cortisol.Cortisol is necessary in the body during stress to help the body decide what type of energy it should have to meet its needs during that time. It is only if we have excess cortisol release that it can be negative. To help keep it only at the levels we need we first of all need to ensure proper nutritional and lifestyle changes to reduce stress, and hence keep cortisol levels under control. Diet, exercise, meditation, yoga, etc, all of these types of things can help this process.
If you are having problems with stress and anxiety our Total Balance will generally help. A more potent product specifically for this concern is our Neuro-Natural Serenity. It can be taken with our Total Balance or as a stand alone. Ideally with TB but it then starts becoming pretty expensive.
3. Thyroid glandular products.
I am aware of these products but I don't know enough about them to offer and informed opinion, sorry. What ai do know is that it is important not to second guess any thyroid conditions. It should be assessed through a blood test and diagnosed by an expert.
I would have reservations about taking these products just for general thyroid health. Taking an extract or dried form on a substance doesn't have a direct impact on the organ you are concerned about. For example, eating liver will not necessarily improve your own liver. There may be some nutrients that help it but they are probably better obtained from other sources.
Thank you so much for your kind words. They are much appreciated.
Fortunately Kenneth was a rare one. Rest assured that it did not get me down. We know that we are doing our best but of course everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Thanks again.

I was wondering what your opinion is on Hyaluronan? I have heard that it's found in the progression stages of some cancers, but others have said that it fights certain cancers. Any thoughts you have on it would be greatly appreciated since I respect your opinion.-Thanks
I just found this website this morning and have been very intrigued. I was looking for an anti-aging skin care, specifically for my under eye wrinkles. I've read all of you testimonials and unfortunatley I haven't seen any on your eye products, such as the Eyeliss. Any particular reason why? Also, are all of your skin products natural? Can I eat it? For example. I don't have major wrinkles, but I am 32 and the under eye is now a big concern and I don't want to do anything too drastic yet. Thank you in advance for your response.
