Ongoing efforts to improve...

Since we released our new natural skin care products a few months ago the sales have been steadily increasing in spite of tougher economic times...no doubt reflecting the excellent value for money of these new products.  Feedback has been good with repeat order rates high.

Like our Total Balance range of supplements we will continue to ensure that we keep up with the latest developments in natural skin care and periodically (at least once a year) 'tweak' the formulas if we can see a benefit to our customers in doing so.

It is not as easy as it may seem to get a natural skin care product with perfect texture.  The process of preparation is quite complex for our products.  We have to use water 'baths' to indirectly heat certain oils to specified temperatures.  At the same time powders have to be mixed into purified water at different temperatures and then these have to be combined at a specific rate and blended for specific times.

All these processes are carefully documented and the final product goes through a QA inspection and is tested at an independent laboratory for any micro-biological contamination before being released.

Our formulator who is a highly experienced cosmetic chemist from Germany is usually present at most production runs.  Our QA person is always present.  However, during the last production run (when our formulator was not present) we have determined that a couple of the products, namely Women's Day Cream and Body Lotion was blended for a little longer than was desirable.  Whereas the texture appeared fine at the time it was inspected we have found subsequently that in some tubes that it is more liquid than desired.

The efficacy of the product is not affected but the texture is.  If you have had one of our skin care products and the texture has not been as you feel it should have been please email michelle@xtend-life.com and let her know the product concerned and the numbers stamped on the tube and we will replace it at our cost.

We have been doing small production runs of each product so that we can ensure that every batch is as fresh as possible.  We know from our records which batches were blended a bit to much and have modified our procedures to ensure that it is not repeated.

One of the procedures is that in future we will not just rely on the texture at the time of completion of the production run but also do some accelerated tests on each product before shipping to ensure that the consistency of the texture remains unchanged.

If you did receive one of these tubes please accept my apologies and email Michelle for a replacement.

Thank you

Hi Warren,

My wife was one of the people who had the defective product. I contacted Michelle like you said to and I just wanted to say it was a pleasure dealing with her. Thanks for having such a great staff.

Cheers,

Warren;

I was flipping through a magazine and notied a prescription form of Omega-3 fish oils. The product is called LOVAZA by GlaxoSmithKline. How can Omega 3 fish oil be a prescription medication?

Their website is LOVAZA.com

Hi Peter,

It's just some company that wants you to think that because the FDA is on there label that it's better. But I think you will understand this hype more if you read this link....I think you'll like what it says towards the end.

Thanks for the information,

By the way I check the price of the LOVAZA and it runs $162.36 for 120 soft gels. That comes out to about $1.35 per soft gel, five times the price we pay here at Xtend-Life for Omega 3. The pharmaceutical companies have quite the racket don't they?

Yes they do. Take more Xtend Life if thats the case..lol. I'm glad you enjoyed the link.

Hi Peter,

Basically what GlaxosmithKline has done is put together a higher concentrated Omega 3 soft gel by repeating the concentration process. There is nothing special about this other than you can get higher levels of DHA and EPA per capsule.

They have a total of 840mgs of EPA and DHA. The last batch of our Omega 3 did from memory contain about 450mgs of EPA and DHA...a little more than half of the LOVAZA product.

Therefore to get the same amount of Omega 3 using our product you would have to take double the soft gels. So, this means that you would have to take 2 of our soft gels to equal 2 of LOVAZA and that would cost $0.28 (for 2 soft gels) versus $1.35 (for one soft gel) so you are spot on when you say that the Glaxosmithkline product costs 5 times as much for the same amount of DHA and EPA.

What they have done is put their oil through some clinical studies to get FDA approval and therefore have it treated as a prescription medicine. The only thing that LOVAZA will do that other products will not is empty your pocket book quicker.

Since you have in the skin care directions to cleanse and dry skin then apply the product, will you be coming out with a Cleanser and Make up Remover. I have been asked by customers for such products.

Is your eye gel good for sagging under the eyes? How long does it take to notice the change? Thanks.
November 24, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterMui
Hi Mui,

Yes, indeed that it one of the things that the eye gel has been designed for. How long does it take to notice a change.

That's a difficult one and I don't want to seem evasive but I can't honestly answer it. But, it does take time. You may notice a difference within the first few weeks but it may take longer.

Interestingly, today I remarked to one of our Thai staff how she is looking so much younger. 6 months ago she had hints of bags under her eyes but today there is no sign of them. Whether it is all due to the eye gel I honestly could not say.

Sometimes sagging and baggy skin is due to a breakdown of collagen and elastin which these products will help...but, you should also be aware that in order to maximize results that you have to deal with it internally.

For example, did you know that break down of collagen is generally due to glycation of collagen and the best way to minimize that is through the use of Carnosine which is one of the important ingredients in Total Balance.

I am sorry that I cannot be more definitive but I can say this...that if our eye gel will not help I doubt that any other product would either.

Hi Warren,

Will Xend-life ever consider something for people with acne? Acne is a big market which has some of the worst producs to address the problem with so much rip offs!

Thanks!

Hi Jenny,

Yes, it is something that we are working on. Have you tried our face creams yet? Some people have reported that they have found them beneficial for their acne.

Can't guarantee that it would help you...could be worth a try. If it didn't help just let us know and we would give you a full refund.

Hi Warren,

I tried them and they are good, however people with acne
have all sorts of problems like oily skin were they are forced to use products which dry the skin and create another problem and breakouts always....

I'm sure that your products are perfect for people with normal skin! With the acne they help to reduce the redness after a breakout when i tried them out.

I hope you will one day have a product which deals directly with this problem and address it in the correct way with a condition that dozens of millions suffer world wide from.

What angers me most is the big industry around it which offer this chemicals products that never work! Among them many dangerous ones like Accutane pills with many repored sucide stories.

Thanks for you help!

Hi Jenny,

We are going to be working on a number of new products early in the new year. I will ask our R & D people to tell me what we can do in order to help modify our products to specifically help those customers with acne.

I will comment further soon.
